Meet SEL Teacher, Justina Harsche!

Originally from Jackson, New Jersey, Justina has been involved in the Statesboro community for the past couple of years by volunteering with foster children and mentoring fellow graduate students. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland, Justina continued to pursue her education. Currently, she is a graduate student at Georgia Southern University working on her master’s degree in psychology. She is focusing on examining the relationship between puberty and trauma in young adult’s self-reporting trauma symptoms.
Through her research and work with foster children, Justina is passionate about wanting to help
children succeed by teaching them how to adapt and cope with adverse events they may have
experienced. Her first step in doing so is bringing her research knowledge into her classroom as
an Social Emotional Learning Teacher with The Camilla Foundation.
In her spare time, Justina enjoys reading, taking walks on the beach, and traveling.
