Meet Monica Van Wagenen, MEd, APC, NCC.

Under the direction and supervision of Angela Landers, LPC, CPCS

Monica’s background is in anthropology, the arts, and working with young people. She graduated from Georgia Southern’s MEd Counselor Education program and was a school counselor for two years before moving to private practice. Monica’s integrated counseling approach is trauma-informed, multicultural, strengths and interest based, and whole-person focused. She enjoys helping clients of all ages discover and build on their own skills and strategies to process past and present stress. The therapeutic relationship is foundational to Monica’s work where she incorporates mindfulness, play, the expressive arts (photography, art, writing, music, movement), somatic practices, and psychoeducation.

Monica enjoys reading, journaling, doodling, being in nature, and spending time with family and friends.
