Meet Board Member Scott Hagan!

Scott and his family moved to Statesboro when his father was hired to teach anatomy in the brand-new nursing school at Georgia Southern in 1980. After graduating from Statesboro High School, Scott attended Georgia Tech as a student in order to pursue a career coaching college basketball. He returned to Georgia Southern as a graduate student, then later answered the call to ministry and enrolled in seminary at Emory University. Scott returned to Statesboro in the summer of 2020 to begin serving as Senior Pastor at Statesboro First United Methodist Church. He is married to Julie, a native of Cherokee County and an educator in the Bulloch County School System, and they have two sons, Sam and Jack. Scott sees firsthand, through the families of the congregations he has served alongside, how difficult the world makes life for young people. Serving as a Board Member of the Camilla Foundation is an opportunity for Scott to connect the precious young adults in our community with the caring and qualified experts who can literally save lives. Is there a higher calling than helping to remove the stumbling blocks that the world puts before young people and families?
